Delivering Superior Individual Customer Services

The Sheraton Poznan five-star hotel installed Acentic's in-room entertainment system in early 2007.

Poznañ, one of Poland's oldest and most eclectic cities, is also a dynamic trade centre. The venue of the country's most significant trade fairs, its geographic location makes it an important transport hub between Berlin and Warsaw. As a result, it has evolved into a key business destination in recent years. In addition, it is home to a historic cathedral district and is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination.

A “feel-at-home” atmosphere

The Sheraton Poznan Hotel opened its doors in the heart of Poznañ early this year. It fits in seamlessly with the city’s dynamic image. The five-star facility boasts 181 rooms and suites, its own gym and two restaurants and a bar, offering guests an atmosphere that makes them feel entirely at home, whether they are on a business trip or taking a holiday. The motivation to provide the guests with more than just the services they are entitled to “on paper” is why Iva Trifonov, General Manager of the Sheraton Poznan Hotel, decided to work with Acentic, the leading supplier of digital hotel iTV systems. "I studied Acentic’s iTV solutions and soon realized that they are an important part of the package if you want to give your guests a hotel experience that leaves nothing to be desired,” she said.

An individual service catering to guests’ personal needs

Iva Trifonov chose Acentic’s Vision 400 for the Sheraton Poznan Hotel due to the many different guest communication options it provides, including the large number of films and movies offered by the iTV system. What truly differentiated the Vision 400 for her, however, was its Graphical User Interface, which is branded to match the hotel’s graphic corporate design and includes such useful tools as a welcome screen, guest messaging, and wake-up calls, among other benefits. “As I dealt with the Vision 400, I realized that this iTV-solution satisfies the entertainment and information requirements of all guests. Vision 400 helps us cater to the personal needs of every single individual and this is important for us," said Trifonov. Since the Vision 400’s installation at the Sheraton Poznan Hotel, the hotel has maintained a steady growth of revenue per occupied room, demonstrating how much the system is appreciated by guests. Most of all the hotel actively uses the various options to communicate to the guests via the system.

A successful start to a promising partnership

Iva Trifonov opted to do business with Acentic in early 2007, after discovering the company when Starwood Group, which manages the Sheraton brand, named it a preferred supplier of interactive in-room entertainment systems. Since then, the Sheraton Poznan's account has been managed by Marek Soszka, sales manager for Acentic in Poland. Soszka reports the installation of the Acentic Vision 400 at the Sheraton Poznan went off without a hitch: "We stay in regular contact with the Sheraton Poznan Hotel. That's how I know that the system is working perfectly and that the hotel guests really appreciate it," he said. "I'm delighted about this, particularly since the contract with the hotel was the first one after we were appointed as a preferred supplier by Starwood. All in all, it's been a very successful start to a promising worldwide partnership."
